License Agreement

An application programming interface ("API") is now available to make it easier for developers and organizations to access our data. The following is our terms of service from the Legislative Information Systems ("LIS") of the State of Tennessee.

Scope

The API and all other content, documentation, code, and related materials made available to you through LIS services are subject to these terms.

Registration

In order to use the Web API you will need a Token. The token will give you access to the entire API and all data will be returned in either JSON or XML format. The default is JSON.

Please note that you will need to use your token for every transaction you make to our servers.

Use the registration form at the bottom of this page to make a request for your token. Please allow 24-48 hours for LIS to process your request.

Privacy

Personal information collected for registration is confidential and is only being used to generate the API token.

Right To Limit

We reserve the right to limit, restrict or block usage of your assigned API token for excessive use or misuse of the services and data provided as determined by LIS. If you feel there are issues or concerns, please contact LIS at webmaster@capitol.tn.gov.
